Perfect for a dinning room ofcourse but I think this is more than just a decoration. The artists pays alot of attention to patterns and detail. The lines are sharp and contrasting very rapidly capturing the eye. The whole feel of the painting is very relaxing and soothing. I'm not sure why this is the case, all the elements in this painting somehow translate to create a certain mood of sensation.

Rangitoto Island by Teresa Coulthurst

A watercolour painting depicting A panoramic view of Rangitoto Island, an island volcano in the Waitemata Harbour and an Auckland icon. The whole setting takes on a kind of tranquil atmosphere, perhaps due to the relaxed expressions on the two womens faces. However in another state of mind one could look at this work and picture a very depressing emotional environment. The dark red hues can translate a very sorrow and gloomy feeling, which would reflect on the unhappiness in the two women's lives.

Koru Whakairo

Traditional Maori Wood Carving of a Koru or spiral, which represents the fern frond as it opens bringing new life and purity to the world.
